A new beta version of EUROMOD will be released on 9 September 2024. As a result of a major project involving partner institutions, EUROMOD national teams and the JRC, the new version of the model will include the simulation of consumption taxes (VAT and excises) for the 27 EU Member States for the most recent years. For this purpose, new datasets have been created by matching the standard EU-SILC datasets with HBS data. Please be aware that in order to get access to these datasets you may need to amend your EUROMOD-related RPP with Eurostat if it doesn't foresee the use of HBS. More information here.

Furthermore, the release will include other new features and improvements, such as:

  • First version of 2024 tax-benefit policies.
  • Statistics Presenter adapted to the simulation of consumption taxes.
  • New country-specific synthetic training data allowing to run more realistic simulations.
  • New benefit calibration extension to allow the alignment of benefits with external statistics.

On Monday 16 September, 12:00 CET, JRC will give a 1h online session on the main new features included in this release.
