EUROMOD online session on new features of the 2024Q3 release

JRC will give a 1h online session on the new features included in the EUROMOD beta release (2024Q3), disseminated on 9 September 2024. Among others we will show:

• The new extension to simulate consumption taxes, which allows the computation of  VAT and excises by using new datasets resulting of matching EU-SILC with HBS data. The user will be able to run the usual EUROMOD simulations (income taxes, social insurance contributions and benefits) alone or together with consumption taxes. A dedicated online session will follow later in the year, dates to be announced.
• The harmonised approach to account for limited coverage of benefits, including a new extension to calibrate them. So far it has been applied to social assistance benefits, but can be applied to any other benefit if needed.
• The new country-specific training datasets, which roughly replicate the main budgetary and distributional aggregates of each country.
