EUROMOD-JRC Interface

The EUROMOD-JRC web interface provides simplified access to EUROMOD itself, and allows analysis of the fiscal and equity impacts of tax reforms.

The interface utilises the full tax-benefit rules stored in EUROMOD, allowing the user to simulate parametrical reforms on Personal Income Taxes (PIT) and Social Insurance Contributions (SIC) of EU member states, without requiring prior knowledge of EUROMOD. For taxes, it is possible to change/add/remove rates and brackets, and change amounts and thresholds for allowances and tax credits in 6 categories: (1) personal, (2) family, (3) work-related, (4) housing, (5) education, and (6) health.

Results of the simulated reform, along with those of the baseline scenario, are produced using Stata and exported to Microsoft Excel workbooks, where several aggregated indicators are summarised.

Until now the EUROMOD-JRC interface could only be accessed on request by experts in the European Commission network. Starting this week any researcher or policy analyst will be able to request access to this tool from the EUROMOD-JRC Interface webpage.
