The Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) hosted the 9th World Congress of the International Microsimulation Association (IMA) at the University of Vienna on 8-10 January 2024.

The IMA Congress aims to share knowledge and experience concerning developing and using microsimulation models. It gathered more than 170 participants from all over the world and covered a wide range of papers on microsimulation topics.

Among the models presented, EUROMOD featured prominently. Past and present members of the JRC-EUROMOD team, as well as various members of the EUROMOD National Teams and the broader EUROMOD community presented in several sessions of the conference. The opening session of the IMA also included Sara Riscado's presentation on "Inflation, fiscal policy and inequality across Europe", a work that relies on EUROMOD and its recent extension to indirect taxation.
